Advanced Information Processing Systems Lab.

[Japanese/English]

Department of Computer Science and Communication Engineering
Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering
Kyushu University

This laboratory works on various topics in high-performance computing, parallel I/O systems, and advanced computer communications.

We aim at solving efficiently problems which occur in the field of applications. We are concerned with preconditioning techniques for the iterative solution of large systems. Its implementation on parallel and cluster systems is also an underlying factor.

Another research topic is efficient I/O mechanisms for parallel programs which access large data on secondary storage. Resource management issues for supercomputers are also covered.

Our research interests include various technologies for the Internet architecture, in particular, multimedia data communications and multicast data communications. Our effort is also made on new concepts for advanced Internet such as IPv6, QoS, and grid computing.

Research Topics

Large-Scaled Computation, Fast and Parallel Numerical Algorithms, Preconditioned Iterative Methods, Computation on Network, Parallel I/O Systems, Database Programming Languages, Job Scheduling for Supercomputers, Internet Architecture, Multimedia Data Communication, Multicast Data Communication, Advanced Internet, Grid Computing
